Lake of the Isles and Westerly...

I love photographing in Westerly/Stonington, just as much as Providence, Boston and Newport. It just has a different vibe, maybe a bit calmer???
This wedding took place at the Watch Hill Chapel followed by the reception at the Lake of the Isles at Foxwoods. It was a steamy 4th of July, holiday but it didn't make a difference for the bride and groom! We zoomed out to the crazy beautiful wooden bridges hiding from everyone except the golfers and the bride and groom, and took complete advantage of the landscape. It also gave the bride and groom a minute alone-something that seems to happen very little once the reception starts. I wonder how many of the guests went gambling after!

Thanks J and C!

Rock and Roll wedding!

Mix a beautiful bride, a rock and roll groom, great sense of humor AND style, some tattoos, and the willingness to show it all on film and you get... a rock and roll wedding as well as an elegant one. I couldn't have envisioned it better myself! Taking advantage of every single moment, this couple was able to create images with me that could be in The knot wedding magazine, or in Rolling Stone. We started at the bride's home, moved on to the family church, and then to the reception site where the party and the performance began, including the groom rockin' out with the band, and an aunt falling out of the photobooth...while the pictures were being taken! She laughed since it was all caught on film! I think this couple shows you truly can do and have anything you want at your wedding.

Rock on K and M!

The beach...

Sometimes just a simple, short stroll on the beach can give the beauty and the intimacy you might be looking for in photographs. It is a more relaxed atmosphere and often, without even knowing it, the stress of the of the day is forgotten the minute your feet land in the sand. So if you have a summer wedding and love the beach, don't be afraid to go for it. This series took place at first beach in Newport, the reception was at the Atlantic beach club.
Thanks J and P!
